The biggest personal achievement for me at the academy was confidence.

As we get closer to graduating and my time with IDYCA is over I want to say thank you. Thank you for making me miserable but pointing out how much stronger I’ll be in the end. Pushing me to know how to handle stressful situations with my chin up and shoulders rolled back. The biggest personal achievement for me at the academy was confidence. Growing up I lost all confidence in myself, I didn’t care for my future. I had lost all respect for myself but during the academy I was taught RESPECT. For others but more importantly respect your body, mind, and soul. Take care of yourself, don’t do drugs and go out and party all the time. Care about what you put into your body. Take caution of your environment, don’t always put yourself in dangerous or toxic situations, it’s not healthy for your mind. Want better for yourself even if the process sucks. Embrace it, embrace the fact that you’re going to be successful when you get what you worked so hard for. You want that feeling of accomplishment, you want to go to bed at night knowing you did something today the best you could. Know everything you’ve ever received was EARNED not GIVEN. That you push yourself everyday to change and  to be the same person you were months ago. I know I don’t want to be the same person I was even a month ago. I should be pushing so hard everyday to the point I’m changing into a better person. Everyday from graduation I am going to remember all that IDYCA taught me and I’m going to live by it so I can be a better me. Thank you for giving me a second chance.
