If I had only one word to describe what the academy has done for me, I would say “opportunity.” I originally came to the academy to make up missing credits, but what I got out of it was so much more. Everything we were taught, were tools for our success after we graduated. We can now use these tools to build the foundation for the rest of our lives. These metaphorical “tools” range from leadership skills to work ethic.
The academy taught valuable lessons through hands on experience. Instead of having lectures on how to be a good leader, you are put into a position of leadership with many responsibilities. The academy carefully designed everything so it will remain ingrained long after graduation. With the second chance that I have been provided, I now have the confidence to shoot for the stars. As of today, more windows of opportunities are open than I could have imagined.
