Finding a Suitable Mentor

If you’re having trouble finding a Mentor, you may want to look into the following:

Mentor Requirements

In order to apply to be a Mentor for a Cadet, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Same Gender as Cadet
  • Over the age of 25
  • Non-Family Member
  • Cannot live in the same household as the Cadet
  • Live in close proximity to the Cadet’s hometown
  • Willing to complete ONLINE training and attend ONSITE Mentor Training, at Idaho Youth ChalleNGe Academy.
  • Committed to maintaining Mentor Relationship and IDYCA reporting standards monthly for the entire 17 ½ months (5 ½ months Residential Phase and 12-month Post-Residential Phase).
