[My son] has struggled with reading his whole life… Reading was slow, tedious, and painful. School work was a struggle as we also dealt with other issues with him. He would never read anymore than was required to get by. He never read a chapter book completely. At one point during high school, he told me that it was so hard because the words jumped all over the page when he tried to read them.
But get this, upon coming home from IDYCA he went to a store and bought a book and has read the whole thing from beginning to end. He is excited about reading and is wanting to get better at it so he can understand and learn more. I am so happy for him and extremely grateful to the teachers who encouraged him to want to learn.
